Share Your Experience of Social Care Cuts

Have you been affected by the Social Care Cuts? Has your Council reduced its services? If so Disability Law Service wants to know!

Recent studies show nearly one in four disabled and older people have experienced cuts to services and increased charges for care, with families “pushed to breaking point”, according to a recent report from a group of charities.

In a survey conducted by charities including Carers UK, the Alzheimer’s Society, Macmillan Cancer Support and Scope, more than a fifth of respondents said services had been cut back even though their needs had stayed the same.

If this applies to you then Disability Law Service wants to hear your story.

If you are a professional who has been put under undue strain and pressure due to the cuts then Disability Law Service want to hear your story too - Community Care magazine recently reported cases of adult social care teams having to undertake multiple continuing care reviews in a short timescale following referrals from PCTs, and of social workers having their initial assessments of service users for continuing care questioned by NHS colleagues.

Disability Law Service want to record and publicise the hardship that people are facing due to the cuts as Disability Law Service believe that disabled people are bearing the brunt of the cuts, by telling us your story Disability Law Service hope to bring attention to the growing difficulties that disabled people face in our society.
