The Council is keen that all the activities are inclusive of disabled people as well as having a range of bespoke activities for people with a range of impairments.
Contact Amy if you are interested in getting involved or have something to offer; also to be kept in touch via the mailing list so you can publicise it to your users and members nearer the time.
Last year the Activate Sports Festival kicked off Lambeth Council’s countdown to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The festival gave visitors the opportunity to ‘have a go’ at Olympic and Paralympic sports such as tennis, rowing, cycling and climbing. Local sports clubs were on-hand on the day offering training and support as well as advice for those who wanted to join a club to continue with their chosen activity.
How can I get involved?
• Join Lambeth’s mailing list to get updates on all the activities on offer at this year’s festival and how to get involved.
• If you are a club or local sports organisation, Activate could act as the perfect showcase, contact us to find out how you could be part of the festival.
• Do you have an act you would like to perform on our stage or would you like to run a workshop i.e. Bollywood Dance or line dancing?
• Volunteers are always needed so if you would like to assist backstage or in a marquee or alongside a coach please let Amy know.
