Health and Wellbeing Board - focus on Black Thrive

The focus this session is the health of people of African and Caribbean descent in Lambeth and will be led by Black Thrive, the session will take place before the formal board meeting on Thursday 29th June (5.00pm-6.00pm) at Karibu Education Centre, 7 Gresham Rd, London SW9 7PH.

People of African and Caribbean descent suffer disproportionately when it comes to mental health and wellbeing. Black Thrive seeks to build a culture in Lambeth whereby black communities are able to thrive and improve their mental health and wellbeing, supported by relevant, accessible services, which provide the same excellent quality of support for all people regardless of their race.
At this informal event, there will be a presentation about the progress Black Thrive has made to date and its three main themes of work:
prevention of mental ill health
improving access to services
better experiences for people using mental health services.
Everyone is welcome to attend. As well as hearing from local experts, you will be able to share your views and hear from other Lambeth residents through group discussions. This is also an opportunity to talk with members of the Board. There is no need to book; you can simply turn up. Tea and coffee will be available.
