Government’s Spending Challenge

Government’s Spending Challenge

The Spending Challenge is an open invitation from the government to contribute to the government’s Spending Review, helping to rethink public services and other areas of spending such as welfare. The recent Budget implies an average 25 per cent cut in spending for most departments. The Government want you to help find those savings, which is extremely tough as every group will be fighting for their view to be considered!

We are hoping as many carers and disabled people will be able to participate as possible at

and hopefully encourage their friends and relatives to do the same.

You can raise any issue you feel will affect you and your family, for example the Princess Royal Trust for Carers produced “Five Asks” during the run up to the last election, which were about the National Carers Strategy; no cuts to the Carers Grant; no Carer in poverty; support for young carers at school; help for young adult carers in further education.  You can find out more by visiting http://www.carers.org.

Please click onto the link http://spendingchallenge.hm-treasury.gov.uk/ and have your say. The amount of time we have to influence is very limited.

You can add your views and comment on the site on any topic, so be as radical, creative and imaginative as you can!
