art group over the Easter holidays for autistic young people living in Lambeth, aged 10-14

There is a new activity Lambeth NAS branch (the local volunteers group of the NAS) are running. An art group over the Easter holidays for autistic young people living in Lambeth, aged 10-14 (broadly year 6-10).

For the last 2 years they have been running a successful small holiday art/crafts group for autistic girls and now have raised some money to offer 2 art workshops, over Easter, to a mixed group of boys and girls.

The girls group became full, very quickly, so advise parents to get in touch as soon as possible.

The first workshops will run on the mornings of Tuesday 4th and Tuesday 1th April in Clapham during the Easter holidays, in a venue on Clapham High Street.

Please note that every young person must have a parent or adult carer stay with him/her throughout the sessions who is responsible for their young person (this is required by our NAS insurance) and because places are limited the session isn’t open to siblings at this time(sorry about that) It will be great fun.

Please email as soon as possible with your name and age of their son or daughter and which week(s) you would like to do (you can do both). Also include your contact number and email.
You will receive confirmation if there is a place available and the venue.
There will be a waiting list if full at the time of your enquiry.

This is a new venture, and if the pilot is successful they plan to raise funds to run a similar art group over the Summer holidays.

Dates: Tuesday 4th and Tuesday 11th April

Times 10.30-12.30

Venue: On Clapham High Street ( nearest tube Clapham Common). Venue will be advised on confirmation of a place.

Size of group: Maximum 10 young people(and parents/adult carers)

Led by Boyd Hill, artist. Boyd has many years experience working with teenage groups from locally in Lambeth to South Africa. Committee member, Anna Roads, who organises the Girls Art Group will also be attending as a volunteer with her child. Both of them have current DBS and references.
