A mother of a disabled eight-year-old boy, named C, is looking for a carer for 16 hours per week during school term time and 20 hours per week during school holidays and the rate of pay £10 per hour. The hours are flexible, though mainly weekday evenings as well as weekends, with the opportunity of some overtime.
The carer should have good spoken English and a caring nature. Additionally, the carer must be punctual, ideally have experience working with disabled children with physical impairments, and be fun to be with.
The carer will need to go through Lambeth Council to get a DBS check. However, if you have a current DBS you could begin work once a waiver is signed. The waiver will continue until the Lambeth DBS check has been satisfactorily completed.
C is an 8-year-old with complex care needs. He is a bubbly child with a wicked sense of humour who enjoys swimming and is X-factor obsessed. C also loves school, enjoys the cinema, and is an avid reader who enjoys visiting the library to choose his books.
C needs assistance in the following areas
• Personal care
• Feeding
Additionally, C needs support with community activities such as:
• Swimming
• Cinema
• Library
• After school clubs
Hours, pay, etc:
• 16 hours school term time and 20 hours school holidays, flexible across weekday evenings and weekends – and overtime opportunities
• £9.75 per hour
