Personal Assistant required to support a young man with autism and a learning disability from 9am to 5pm on Thursdays and Fridays (total 16 hours per week).  Activities include going to the park, football, cycling, gardening, music, shopping, meals out and attending a day service.  Some support with personal care and changing clothes.  Experience of communicating with pictures and Makaton signs would be an advantage.  DBS check and references required.

£10.20 per hour.  5.6 weeks paid annual leave per year.

SENIOR ADVICE WORKER

Part Time 21 – 28 hours per week (negotiable)
Salary £17,400 – £23,200 per annum inclusive
One year maternity cover to July 2019

DASL is an established Disabled People’s Organisation providing a range of services, including advice and information, support for victims of hate crime, professional advocacy, Personal Budgets support, and sport and activities programmes for Disabled people in Lambeth.

Our Senior Advice Worker will be on maternity leave from August 2018 and we are looking for someone who can take on managing our small but busy Advice Service for a year. You will be our main caseworker, principally dealing with welfare benefits. You will also supervise the casework of any other staff or volunteers working on the service and liaise closely with DASL colleagues to ensure that your clients can access our other services and those of our partners. We hold the Advice Quality Standard and you will work with the Director to ensure the ongoing quality of the service.

You should have at least two years experience of advising on welfare benefits including some appeals work. A basic knowledge of debt and housing advice would be helpful but is not essential and training will be provided as required.  We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team but is able to work self sufficiently. You should have good interpersonal skills to work with our diverse range of Disabled clients including those with mental health problems, and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for them.

I am looking for live out Personal Assistants to help me - a 28 years old male. I have Duchenne muscular Dystrophy and I am a full time wheelchair user.

The role of a Personal Assistant is a unique opportunity to help make another person’s life a little easier. I am looking for someone who is caring, compassionate, fun and energetic, who is also easy to get on with.

You will help me with all aspects of personal care including washing, dressing and toileting, shopping, outings, escorting me to meetings and social appointments, administration of medication, meal preparation, cleaning, etc

Previous experience and skills in caring for someone with complex care needs is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

As a Personal Assistant you will be:

Be punctual, reliable and flexible where needed
Able to peak clear and fluent English
Have a valid right/permit to work in the UK
Possess a clean driving licence and the ability to drive confidently in the UK is desirable but not essential.
Able to provide a current DBS certificate, or be happy to apply for one if needed.
I am looking for at least 4 Personal Assistants to join my team. Ideally you’d be available to work for 30 hours per week across shifts from 7am to 10pm between Monday and Sunday at my home in Brixton.

The rate of pay is £10.20 per hour, dependent on experience.
