As well as creating opportunities for stroke survivors to meet together and support each other these made it possible for them to get involved in the life of their local communities by providing advice and information about how to access events and services, especially by supporting them to travel more independently and safely.
Over the summer and early autumn months a group met regularly at Brockwell Park Greenhouses for a gentle session of gardening, lunch and a walk in Brockwell Park.
Cycling with Wheels for Wellbeing
A number of Network members enjoyed cycling, some for the first time, with our partner organisation Wheels for Wellbeing All disabled people are welcome to attend Wheels for Wellbeing’s sessions at the Herne Hill Velodrome independently but we also assisted stroke survivors who need additional support to be able to attend.
You can find out more about Wheels for Wellbeing’s regular sessions at Herne Hill Velodrome, Croydon Arena and the Ladywell Centre here.
